You actually buy stuff from American Muscle? I can't stand 90% of the junk they sell. The other 10% that they sell is just overpriced.

Raxiom.....*shudders*

Rebuild kits, fluids, brakes and suspension components are decently priced, usually within a few dollars of competitors after shipping, and customer service is above competent.

But the flashy lights, body kits, and shit? Nah brah, like I'm dropping money on waste like that

To be fair, I want those 2013 style tail lights they make for the '05-'09 cars like mine.

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

I haven't seen them on a Sonic Blue car in person yet and most photos I see on blue cars have the blackout panel, which I don't want...... This picture pretty much cements it for me.... Considering I find 99% of modified lighting to be utter crap, this says alot. I've ordered a few things from AM in the past. Ordered a set of blank metal center caps with no logos on them a while back. Ordered them in the morning one day and received them the afternoon of the next.

Ehh. I don't so much mind the style of products or design of the products, because for the most part that's the owner's opinion, but its more so the quality or the market that they cater to. It's right on that bleeding edge of "autozone-special" type of stuff.

Not to mention I've heard nothing but bad stories on getting bad pieces, which is where AM comes through and always makes it right, but they can't guarantee the longevity. I stick to OEM+, meaning OEM that's fixed by myself when it breaks. I may not have the "stand-out" look but at least I can DD it and not worry about losing a headlight/taillight in the middle of nowhere.

I just hate the surplus of stick-on body kits and interior bits that they sell.

As one big place that sells pretty much everything, they're pretty reasonable. But it can all be had cheaper and from just as respectable places. I'm also a Cobra owner, which they pretty much don't cater to at all. So my opinion is a bit skewed. I used them a lot when I had my '08 GT, right as they were getting Bama in-house. But, when it comes to serious track-oriented stuff they start to fall off the radar.

I've tried Cobra parts shopping for a friend/wrench mate before, I see where you're coming from. AM's worked fine for me and my mustangs through the years, but fox GTs and new edge v6s are pretty much covered out the ass there. I bring up AM because they send the most email coupons and I was up to the checkout page for some adj shocks when I remembered "oh shit wait I'm moving this is a bad impulse"

As an aside, you ever shopped at Late Model Restoration before? Think I bought some springs or something a while back and still get coupons, never needed to test their customer service yet but prices seem alright

I'm mostly OEM when it comes to looks. Drivetrain parts cause mucho research for me. I've never actually changed any light housings on any vehicle I've owned. This would be the first....

Not trying to scare you, but I definitely wouldn't plan on the first set being flawless. I changed the ones in my '08 GT and it took me three RMAs before I got a pair that both worked. Pretty stupid, but it's not AM's fault, just the supplier.

However, that's why I no longer shop there. Customer service is appreciated, but years down the road will still be non-existent. I would mod the car as you wish, but ALWAYS ALWAYS keep the stock parts.

I have a cart saved on Lethal Performance and D'Agostino for that same reason. I slowly chip away at it, but having three cars that you all want to modify makes it that much harder.

LMR is good, and they're real stand up guys. Usually pretty reasonable on prices, and one of the few places that you can buy OEM odds-and-ends but not get screwed over. Plus, they build some ridiculous cars and are super helpful if you ever call them with questions on a build or getting components to work together.

Same can be said for Maximum Motorsports. I wouldn't buy anything suspension related for a Mustang without going through MM or Griggs. Both are fantastic companies, and true enthusiasts at heart that just want to see others enjoy their hobby with them.

Raxiom is owned by AM are they not? Just like SVE is Latemodelresto's own brand?

The only stock parts I don't have for the Mustang are my stuck mufflers and cat back pipes. Kept everything else.
